SCENE ONE
The opening scene is of a kindergarten. There’s general activity, as teachers supervise children with outdoor tasks, including children hammering nails into wood. At one point, one of the kids accidentally hammers a nail into his thumb somehow, and starts screaming. Everyone rushes to help or see, kids start crying and staring and chatting loudly in distress. The camera eventually pulls back slowly until it comes behind one boy standing away from the action, and comes around to see his face watching the scene. His vibe is of an observer, somewhat detached, but not maliciously. The boy is not identifiable as being anyone in particular from the rest of the story.
